Recent Projects

Ah long time no update, what gives?

Busy is the best way to describe it. But I will share with you some of my recent projects that are in development!

First of all, is a controller for a 110VDC GRS 2A semaphore. This was a more challenging controller to construct than the ones I have made in the past. As it is much higher DC voltage, I had to take a different approach. This controller switches AC supply voltage which in turn feeds rectifiers to produce the required DC current for the motor.

While on the topic of semaphores, which is something I had not dove into before the 2A controller, I also just finished one for a T-2 semaphore. This uses a much lower DC voltage than the 2A, so I was able to utilize the same type of controller I have used in the past for PL signals.

Of course both controllers still offer the same WiFi control as any other WirelessBilly controller.

I also have the honor of getting a signal back to working condition. This beautiful B and O CPL VA dwarf was sent to me by the Mount Lowe Preservation Society to get back to working condition.

It is in great shape cosmetically and most of the wiring is intact. It is missing a few bulb mounts, but I am thinking I will make some for it with the 3D printer.

Along with those projects, I am also spooling up some more 3D printing projects. The first two are air brake demonstration racks that can be used for training student locomotive engineers. One is for a 26L locomotive system and one shows the basic car brake valve functions.

Along with those, I am also experimenting with small scale (9″ tall) table top signals that will eventually be offered as a kit to be assembled with pre-made LED harnesses and controllers.

That’s all for now! Reach out to me with any questions or comments on these projects or feel free to contact me with any special projects!
